New floor? Check it performs.
The spec said it would grip. The only way to know it does — once it’s laid, sealed and walked on — is to test it.
- The ‘R rating’ on a product is a laboratory figure for the material before installation; the installed, sealed, cleaned floor can behave quite differently.
- Test at handover to confirm the floor meets what was specified — and to hold the contractor to it if it doesn’t.
- It’s useful evidence for the building file and for any future claim.
- We can also test product samples before you commit to buying.
Specified isn’t the same as installed
Plenty of floors sold as slip-resistant test poorly once they’re down and in use. A handover test is how you know what you actually bought.
